In one study, 71% of pain patients responded to therapy with cannabinoids – and that with an average of eleven years of chronic pain [Bialas P et al. Pain. 2019; 33: 399-406]. The effectiveness is similarly high in spasticity and anorexia [Schmidt Wolf G, Cremer-Schaeffer P. Bundesgesundheitsbl. 2019; 62: 845-54]. The optimally effective daily dose depends on the indication and varies intra-individually. Dr. Johannes Horlemann, Kevelaer, recommended slow dosing. In his experience, if you follow the motto “start slow – go slow”, there are hardly any side effects in practice. With dronabinol there is also no respiratory depression, which z. B. for the combination with opioids is important. …
