pm8Effect of narrowband ultraviolet B treatment on endocannabinoid plasma levels in psoriasis patients.

Abstract

The endocannabinoids, anandamide and 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG), are lipid mediators that are produced “on demand” from membrane phospholipid 1 .The skin, has a functional endocannabinoid system (ECS) 1 . We have shown that this cutaneous ECS responds to ultraviolet B (UVB) irradiation 2 . However the effect of narrowband UVB (nbUVB) phototherapy on endocannabinoid plasma levels in humans is still unknown. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
