A lot of new study data shows that the so-called cannabis law from 2017 has undeniably improved the care of seriously ill and needy patients in Germany – especially those with chronic pain. But it was time, after more than 5 years, to look again at the evidence of this therapy option and to adapt the corresponding guideline to the findings.
A patient with multiple sclerosis: According to the DGS guidelines, the use of cannabis is a treatment option for spastic pain.
